Aisling Software Ltd. is a creative Irish company that develops and markets unique, smart bookkeeping software for small Irish businesses without a dedicated accounts department. The mission of Aisling Software is to make bookkeeping quick, easy and informative. From first-hand experience the owners of the company, Anne and Aileen Hannan, know how hard it is to do the books while trying to run a business. In 1999 they combined their knowledge and experience to develop SortMyBooks, a simple but complete Irish bookkeeping software solution. Anne and Aileen also organise training courses and manage the customer support line team. Their company has grown from strength to strength and provides innovative software updates for their users every year.

Anne Hannan has over 20 years experience in computer training, user support and systems implementation. Anne is a graduate of the University of Strathclyde in Glasgow and worked in the IT department of the Royal British Legion Headquarters. Anne was responsible for overseeing the implementation of the organization’s members’ database, which contained details of 750,000 members as well as branch accounts information and was accessed by upwards of 3000 branch managers nationwide. Anne later moved to Dublin to take a position with Delphi Technologies, a leading software consultancy firm, where she was involved in software product design and development for packages for Euro conversion and Y2K support for AIB, Bank of Ireland and other large financial institutions implementing the two major changes. Aileen Hannan has almost 25 years IT experience. She obtained her Systems Analysis and Computer Programming qualifications in University of Limerick in 1982. Aileen’s career took her to New York where she held senior management positions with organisations such as Pepsi Cola and Canada Dry in New York, and eventually opened her own software consultancy firm. Aileen’s company won a contract with government of Guam in 1997 (a US territory located in the Pacific) to provide software services to the department of Revenue and Taxation. Her initial project was to develop a system for both the Revenue Commissioners and business owners to streamline the processing of GRT (Gross Receipts Tax – Guam’s version of VAT). Shortly afterwards the company won the contract for providing annual updates to the Revenue’s Income Tax processing system.
