Anne Hannan

Anne Hannan is the company’s CEO and CFO. Anne’s unrelenting persistence at the helm has kept the company growing and innovating since it started in February 2000.

Anne’s diverse package of education (English and History major coupled with computer programming training and an NUI Certificate in Education and Training) and experience (from computer programming with Delphi Technologies for Friends First, AIB and BOI to small business accounts and liquidations to client database implementation with Safe Ireland) gives her a rounded perspective on business and commercial opportunities. She is fiercely loyal to the cause of small business success and has been a mentor for Jerry Kennelly’s hugely successful Young Entrepreneurs programme for the past two years.

When Anne is not ferrying her 12 old daughter about she spends her personal time on Jonathan Cainer’s website and expanding her encyclopedic knowledge of nutrition and alternative health fads.

Sambit Misra

Sambit is Project Manager in charge of our software development. We knew we needed Sambit on the team because of his track record for bringing in IT projects on time and on budget for companies such as Hibernian, GE Money and TCS (a company that has more employees than the whole population of Cork!). He keeps us all focussed and on target.

Sambit was actually trying to return to India when Aileen and Anne persuaded or rather informed him that joining the SortMyBooks team was his true destiny. Sambit is very quick to assess a situation and realising resistance would be futile he complied gracefully. Sambit won't let us put a feature on the list until we can explain exactly its purpose, how it is going to work, what benefits it will have and more importantly whose looking for it. We've got to be able to prove our customers need and want it before he'll put it on the plan.

Sambit gets fits of trying to corporatize us but mercifully eventually gives up and says 'let's go for pints'. Sambit hails from Cuttack in India and has been living and working in Ireland for the last 7 years.

Ashley Halsall

Ashley is a member of our support team. Ash loves technology and no one was more proud or excited about our move from the desktop based SortMyBooks to our state of the art SortMyBooks Online than he. We think he was starting to get embarrassed about our old software.

He loves helping people find the best ways to get their work done. He’s got the talent for explaining to our customers how to do things and where to find what they need. Ashley acts as our front line Quality Control and is not shy about giving his opinion. We run all new features past Ashley and often get shouts of ‘No way! That’s going to be a support nightmare’. He is dedicated to making sure we deliver software that’s easy and useful to our customers.

Ashley is nuts about Manchester United and gets very passionate about it after a few pints. He splits up his holidays to go see football games all over the world. He also likes to shoot his friends with paint of a Sunday.

Imelda O’Donnell

Imelda handles marketing and training in the Cork area since 2008. Before returning home to Ireland with her Essex Man husband Lee in 2008 Imelda was based in London and was a Director within the WPP Group, one of the world’s largest media companies. At WPP, she was responsible for managing the accounts of three Fortune 500 Companies where she regularly presented to their Boards.

Imelda started her own consultancy business in 2004 and quickly took umbrage at how complex doing your own accounts were. She came on board with SortMyBooks as a trainer in 2008 appreciating the simplicity and no nonsense style of training. Since joining the Aisling Software team Imelda has trained over 200 businesses to gain financial control.

Imelda loves true crime and hates all of that ‘new age crap’. She is a soft touch for a hard luck animal story and has been banned by Lee from bringing any more rescue dogs home.

Geraldine O’Connor

Geraldine is Sales and Support Manager of SortMyBooks. Geraldine’s quick wit and kindness ensures a call to our support line is never boring. Geraldine has forensic bookkeeping skills and is a stickler for doing things correctly. She’ll tell you the right way to do things and will stick with you and your issue to make sure you’ve got a solution and that you’ve understood what you need to do next.

Geraldine has a BSc in Business and has worked with SortMyBooks since 2007. Even though she’s lived in Kerry for 15 years she still sounds like she walked off the Holloway Road yesterday and will tell you loudly and proudly in her North London accent how our software is 100% Irish.

Aileen Hannan

Co-founder and Marketing Director. Aileen’s been a computer programmer since computers took up the whole ground floor of a building. She got her computer science degree from UL back when it was still called the NIHE. She was using the Internet before it was the World Wide Web. She rose up the ranks of Canada Dry in New York to head up their IT department before returning to Ireland and setting up SortMyBooks.

Aileen believes passionately in keeping things simple and loves the diversity offered through working with small businesses. Her mission is to empower business owners to take control of their own financial futures. Our customers love her for her ability to strip away the confusion and pomposity that seems to surrounds accounts. She removes the veil and shows business owners how their accounts are simply made up of a series of buying and selling decisions that they make by themselves every day.

Aileen’s goal is to wander the globe with her laptop working poolside from the Bahamas to Ballybunion

Romans MalinovskisAgile Technologies Team

Romans is the architect of SortMyBoks software. Romans started as a web software development in 1997, when he was 16 years old. In 2007 he co-founded Agile Technologies — now a close partner of Aisling Software in our Online Software Venture.

Regardless of being involved with many other web projects, Romans admits that SortMyBooks is his favourite. His team started working on the SortMyBooks in 2008 and their experience contributed to everything starting from the database model and MVC structure up to the design of user interface.

It was a bumpy ride. There were no "what client says — goes". Sometimes Romans would reject our ideas and counter-propose better ones. Discussions heated up as we looked for the perfect way to solve things. However their late working hours certainly paid up and resulted in a solid, fast, scalable and flexible online software.

Tom Cruz

Tom is the head of Quality Assurance. Tom was in the US army for 20 years and has degree in Computer Science from the University of Pheonix. For the last 10 years Tom was running his own IT services business, installing networks and providing support to customers such as the Department of Justice, the South West Fisheries Board, DMC Medical and the South Kerry Development Partnership.

Tom has been part of our Quality Team since 2009 and this is where his army background really shows. He is relentless and thorough when it comes to Quality. His attention to detail is legendary and at times really annoying. Tom puts our software and all new releases through its paces.

His goal is to accompany his wife Aileen wandering the globe together with Tom drinking large fruity pink drinks complete with umbrellas and twisty straws.
